Dedicated to the artist’s late aunt, Huda, “Huda, With Me I Carry Your Name” traces memory, grief, and inheritance through embroidery and textile practices of the women in his family. Cloth and thread become forms of archive, carrying gestures of care and making across generations.
Extending this lineage into the exhibition space, The Practice incorporates mirrors into the framing of the works—not simply as surfaces of self-reflection, but of intergenerational reflection. To look is also to encounter those we carry with us: their gestures, labor, memory, and care.
